A custom-made piece ordered by American soldiers stationed at the port of Cam Ranh in southern Vietnam during the mid-1960s. The design features a stylized panther's face embroidered on the back. Most existing Vietnamese jackets display map patterns, making this embroidered variant quite rare. Additionally, the right chest showcases a Vietnamese landscape, while the left chest carries the three characters for 'Fukurokuju' (typically just 'Fuku'), and the sleeves feature a dragon that is larger than those found on other Vietnamese jackets, based on a very rare vintage original.

VIETNAM JACKET

Originating in post-war Japan, similar to the Sukajan, this souvenir jacket was born during the Vietnam War era from the 1960s to the 1970s, commonly referred to as the Het Chan. It is primarily made from either cotton twill or camouflage-patterned huncholiner fabric, and the designs are executed using thick matte colored threads for embroidery.
