This exceptionally unique piece features a bold chrysanthemum design on filament rayon, a rarity among aloha shirts known for their use of crepe fabric in oriental designs. Using a special printing technique called discharge printing, not only does it showcase the chrysanthemum motif richly, but it also brilliantly expresses a three-dimensional feel. The circulation of these fabrics in Hawaii greatly enhanced the appreciation of Japanese printing techniques at the time, leading to numerous fabric orders.
