Katsushika Hokusai's iconic masterpiece, "Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji" (Fugaku Sanjurokkei), features the famously known prints such as "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" and "Red Fuji". Published around 1831 by Nishimura Eijudo as a series of 36 images, it later expanded to 46 images. As the name suggests, all artworks feature Mount Fuji, but Hokusai, influenced by Western art, incorporated perspective techniques and used the popular Prussian blue pigment of the time to portray 46 unique views of the mountain.

This "Edo Five Landscapes" aloha shirt, designed with a theme of Edo Tokyo, features 5 pieces from the complete set of 46 images in "Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji" that capture the essence of Edo. Furthermore, the shirt is characterized by its use of indigo pigment, reflecting Hokusai's commitment to utilizing this color in his works.

Focusing on the artists of the Edo period, who expanded Japan's cultural arts, we recreate the masterpieces of great masters on the canvas of aloha shirts, bringing the passion embedded in Japan's iconic designs to the modern era. This series, which began as a collaboration with Katsushika Hokusai's work, will introduce new artists and expand with future developments.
