Recycled Nylon Track Shorts

I really love the Props Store in Harajuku. What’s great about it is the fun, nostalgic feel of a traditional candy store, blending everyday items with the authentic street vibe of Tokyo. During the hot and humid summer, fashion often takes a backseat, and by mid-August, I find myself quite tired of clothing. This is when I feel the charm of this store the most. While winter selections are nice, there is something uniquely appealing about their summer offerings.

When you visit the store, you'll find cheap mesh shorts and printed T-shirts, which always hit the mark. They strike a perfect balance of casual and serious, which I genuinely appreciate.

This jersey is inspired by my regular thoughts during summer visits to the Props Store. It captures that vibe of the military jerseys and swimwear they usually carry. Although I usually wear only natural materials and strictly avoid synthetic fabrics, in mid-summer, it’s a different story—nylon certainly has its merits.

I started with nylon shorts, and since I was at it, I also designed a top, but I realized it would be better to have long pants too, so I created this setup in two variations. As the humidity rises, and even throughout the peak of summer into autumn, I can confidently say I will be wearing this.
