The CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) denim pullover originates from the brown denim jumper adopted by the U.S. Army in 1908. It is said that brown canvas and indigo blue denim were produced simultaneously at that time, but records show that this design was registered in 1919 as 'SPEC6-125'.
Many young people were dissatisfied with the pullover due to the hassle of putting it on and taking it off, leading some to tear the front or customize it for wear similar to a button-up shirt. This piece reflects those sentiments of the time and is very interesting.
Regarding the fabric, we have analyzed the denim fabric of that era and are using an originally developed denim fabric. This fabric features warp yarn dyed in green-cast indigo, conceived by Takahashi, and weft yarn that is slightly off-white. While inheriting the color, we have adjusted the thread count and increased the number of picks to create a rich texture different from the classic left-hand twill denim, using a 1/2 right-hand twill structure.
