Taiga Takahashi's iconic item is the 1920's jeans.
Taiga Takahashi preferred denim from store brands rather than Levi's. Specifically, he liked the brand Foremost, which was offered by J.C. Penny. In the 1920s, they began to create denim that imitated Levi's, gradually developing designs with originality. By collecting these denims, you can feel their intent to differentiate themselves from Levi's through the details. This intent was passed on, leading to the birth of Taiga Takahashi's original denim. Made from American organic cotton, it features a 3/1 left-hand twill, light ounce denim woven with an old-style loom in Okayama. The denim fabric, woven slowly on a shuttle loom that operates only at 1/10 to 1/20 the speed of modern looms, retains the original unevenness of the cotton thread, creating a nice variation. The warp is dyed with indigo mixed with sulfur dyes, characterized by a weathered green cast color. It is dyed to its core in rope dyeing. The weft uses a custom nepped yarn dyed to a yellowed natural color that evokes the passage of time. By using these two types of yarn, Taiga Takahashi arrives at a unique, deep indigo blue. The finish features a shrinking treatment called sanforized. It is made of 'white ear' selvedge denim, utilizing the white ear in various places such as beneath the belt. These jeans have a rather deep rise and a straight silhouette that drops straight from the thigh to the hem. The design preserves necessary elements like the rounded front pockets with rivets on the openings and the back buckle back. All custom-engraved buttons and backs are made of iron without any surface plating, which will rust over time, allowing enjoyment of the aging process. They are made exactly the same way as in the 1920s, reproducing all details faithfully. The signature leather patch has been mud dyed on Amami Oshima.
There will be a 2-3% shrinkage after washing.
