A sweatshirt born from the roots of American sportswear before the widespread use of synthetic materials in the 1950s. Like the Lot.601 Tee Shirt, it features a direct cut and a flat shape. The details such as the V-gusset at the neckline, which is called a sweat guard, help reconstruct the background of craftsmanship that has been forgotten in modern times. The round-bodied fleece is created using a loop knitting machine located in Wakayama. By using USA cotton, it has been made into a fabric with a unique texture that has a dry feel. The loop knitting machine, which came to Japan during the Taisho era, is currently operational and is the only one in the world located in Wakayama Prefecture. Because it can only knit one meter per hour, it is very inefficient, but by taking time slowly, it produces fabric with a unique texture that appears to have air woven in, with a moderately irregular feel.
MUD DYED BROWN and SUMI DYED BLACK use traditional Japanese dyeing techniques called "mud dyeing" and "sumi dyeing," and are carefully dyed one by one. No two pieces are the same, allowing for a unique expression that can be enjoyed.
HAND DRAWN SUMI draws inspiration from the marbling works of the Kyoto paper craftsman Kamizo, expressing the subtle nuances of the brush strokes used by Yuzen craftsmen by hand-painting sumi ink. Because they are hand-painted, the flow of the brush and the richness of the colors subtly differ from piece to piece, resulting in a sweatshirt with no identical patterns.
