The T-shirt is one of the garments that symbolize America, originally developed as an undergarment worn under uniforms and military clothing.

This simple garment embodies America's rational approach to manufacturing.

Featuring a structure with no waste, it is made of tubular fabric knitted in what is called a round body, with holes for the neck and arms and sleeves attached.

While it looks like modern everyday wear, its nature is completely different.

It has no shoulder slope, with a neckline similar to a boat neck, and designs that faithfully reproduce the specifications of that time, such as the neck rib, which is double-stitched to prevent stretching.

This round body jersey fabric is slowly knitted over time using existing hanging knitting machines.

The hanging knitting machine was brought to Japan during the Taisho era and is now only operational in Wakayama Prefecture, making it the only one in the world.

Although it is a very inefficient machine that can knit only one meter per hour, the fabric thus produced retains a pleasant unevenness and rich texture, as if containing air.

By using USA cotton for the material, the fabric is finished with a dry texture and unique feel.

Finished with garment dyeing and dyed in product condition, the sewn parts and the fabric's unevenness give rise to natural shades. Combined with the unique unevenness of the hanging knitting process, it results in a finish that, while monochrome, conveys subtle variations in expression.
