For T.T's signature T-shirt Lot.601, we used traditional kaki-shibu for garment dyeing, and carefully transferred ink marbling patterns reminiscent of tree rings one by one from the water's surface. This marbling technique originates from games played during the Heian period and was originally a method of transferring ink from the water's surface onto Japanese paper. By taking time to drop ink slowly at the center of a circle, irregular concentric circles resembling tree rings are formed on the water's surface. Each jacket is floated on that surface to capture the concentric circles. Due to subtle movements of the wind, the same pattern will never appear again. By entrusting the final touches to nature, the design encompasses a time that embodies the natural beauty and circles that cannot be controlled by human hands.
