There are various knits worn by heavy laborers that were often seen in America in the 1930s and 1940s. All of them have a texture that is so stiff and prickly that it is almost unimaginable in modern times, making them unsuitable for direct skin contact. However, knits designed for heavy labor possess a unique strength. They lack the assertiveness of traditional Japanese tools, yet they evoke a sense of existence that transcends generations. There was a feeling of wanting to embody that intuition seen by Takahashi, for example, in completely different materials like silk. This became the beginning of this season's knit series. This vest is based on a hand-knit work vest from the 1920s.
