This logger jacket is inspired by the design worn by the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) since around 1934, originating from the work clothing of forest workers in the 1920s. The upper chest features a double structure for enhanced durability and is designed to prevent rainwater intrusion. It showcases a rugged workwear impression with a design that incorporates a minimal pattern and selvage for efficiency. The sturdy cotton canvas fabric is believed to have been used for CCC tents and sleeping bags by the Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot, which was responsible for military clothing at the time, indicating that this jacket was likely created using the same fabric. It has been updated with seam pockets while maintaining the original specifications. The garment is dyed in colors reminiscent of clothing worn by forest workers, utilizing persimmon dye traditionally used to enhance fabric durability, further enhanced by a unique ink marbling pattern to mimic tree rings, captured one by one from the water surface. The marbling technique, which originated in the Heian period, involves slowly dropping ink onto the water's surface, forming irregular concentric circles over time. Each jacket is floated on the water's surface to capture these patterns, creating a design that encapsulates the beauty of nature and the passage of time with patterns that are never repeated due to subtle shifts in the wind.
