Style IVORY

The Logger Jacket, said to have been worn by the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) since around 1934, features a design that dates back to the 1920s, typically worn by forest workers. The upper part above the chest is double-layered, providing durability while preventing rainwater intrusion. Designed with functionality in mind, this workwear is characterized by minimal seams and selvedge patterns, offering a very tough appearance. The robust cotton canvas fabric is believed to have been used by the Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot, which was responsible for manufacturing clothing for the army, for CCC tents and sleeping bags during that time. This jacket, made from the same material, was likely born from that period. The jacket has been updated by incorporating seam pockets while maintaining the original specifications. Garment-dyed in colors that forest workers would have worn, a special process involves the use of persimmon tannin, traditionally applied to enhance fabric durability. Each jacket features a marbling pattern resembling growth rings, captured one by one from the water's surface. This marbling technique is derived from a game dating back to the Heian period, originally a method of transferring ink from the water's surface to washi paper. By slowly dropping ink at the center of a circle, irregular concentric circles are formed on the water surface. Each jacket is floated upon this surface, imprinting the concentric pattern. Due to subtle movements of the wind, the same pattern will never appear twice. This design encapsulates a moment in time, embracing the beauty of nature and the circles formed by forces beyond human control.
