The Lot.703 Denim Jacket C.1920's is a vintage-inspired piece that features a unique design with a patch pocket on one side and minimal stitching to hold the front pleats, reflecting the craftsmanship of the 1920s. Authentically constructed with every detail true to the original making techniques, its silhouette has straight sleeves and no shoulder slope, creating a flat appearance. Made from a jacquard fabric known as Tupelo Madras Chambray, popular in the 1930s for work shirts, it showcases an eye-catching pattern unique to its time, originating from Tupelo, Elvis's birthplace. There is a fascinating anecdote that Elvis's mother might have sewn shirts from this fabric while working in a sewing factory. The fabric has undergone a degreasing washer process for a dry touch finish, with warp threads dyed in both sulfide green and indigo blue to develop a distinctive character as it fades with wear. This jacket, designed to be worn like a shirt with its shell buttons, also features an original iron buckle crafted from a mold. The unplated buckle will rust over time, allowing you to enjoy its natural aging process.
