LOT.219 LOGGER PANTS

Logger pants that are said to have been worn by Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) forest workers since around 1934. Made from the same sturdy cotton canvas as the Lot. 325 Logger Jacket, this fabric is believed to have been used by the Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot, which was responsible for manufacturing army clothing, for CCC tents and sleeping bags, leading to the creation of these pants as well.
The design features a double knee structure extending to below the knees. Originally, it seems the fabric was impregnated with oil for waterproofing, designed more as a tool than clothing. All buttons are made of metal, emphasizing thorough durability. The Lot.219 Logger Pants are dyed with garment dyeing to emulate the colors worn by forest workers of the time. As a special piece, it has been garment-dyed with persimmon tannin, which has traditionally been applied to enhance fabric durability, capturing a marbling pattern reminiscent of annual rings, one by one from the surface of the water. This marbling technique has its origins in a game from the Heian period, where ink on the water surface was originally transferred onto washi paper. By slowly dropping ink into the center of a circle, chaotic concentric circles reminiscent of annual rings are formed on the water surface. Each pant is floated on this surface to capture the pattern, and the subtle movements of the wind ensure the same pattern never appears twice. By leaving the final touch to nature, the design incorporates a time that embodies the uncontrollable beauty and rings of nature.
Custom engraved buttons and back parts are made from iron material, finished with a smoky plating process to represent the passage of time.
