Imagining the lost collar of the Lot.104 Band Collar Shirt, this design reinterprets it with a detachable collar.
Based on the lines extracted from 1920s wing collar shirts, it features a modern balance.
The fabric is a recreation of a jacquard known as 'Tupelo Madras Chambray,' popular for work shirts in the 1930s. This fabric, born in Tupelo, Mississippi, also known as the birthplace of Elvis Presley, was woven with elaborate patterns that were considered extravagant for the time. There is a story that suggests Elvis's mother may have sewn shirts from this fabric, as she worked in a sewing factory.
The fabric is processed with a de-fat washing technique for a dry touch. The warp threads feature both sulfide-dyed gray and indigo-dyed blue threads, which fade gently with each wear, adding a unique texture.
The metal buttons have been specially treated to develop a slight patina that matches the character of the fabric.
