The M-38 Hat, originally produced for the United States Army Air Corps from 1937 to 1941, has been redesigned in a New Silhouette. This exceptional piece is crafted to achieve a perfect balance of roundness and depth.
Crafted from satin fabric with a high-density weft, it features a pre-treatment with silk finish processing, enhancing its dyeing properties and resulting in a beautiful material with vivid colors.
The NATURAL DYED BEIGE uses natural dyes from ‘Yamamoto’ (楊梅) and ‘Kakishibu’ (柿渋). Both have historically been used for dyeing and traditional herbal medicine. Rich in tannins, this color deepens with time, allowing for enjoyment of the aging process.
MUD DYED BROWN is dyed using the traditional dyeing technique from Amami Oshima called ‘Mud Dyeing’. Each piece is carefully dyed individually, resulting in a unique expression that cannot be replicated.
