Reconstructed from a newsboy cap from the early 1900s found in the warehouse of an antique dealer in New Jersey.
In 19th century America, young boys selling newspapers wore this cap, which is why it came to be called the 'newsboy cap', but it seems that working-class men of the time, regardless of profession, generally wore this 'flat cap with a front visor'.
At the time of purchase, it was not in a wearable condition, but a strong sentiment could be felt from the previous owner.
Two types of fabric were used. The striped fabric is a melange stripe that was used in jackets from the 20s to 30s in France. Analysis revealed that the warp thread consisted of 5 types,
and the weave was a special double weave fabric. The thickness of the yarn and the combinations were carefully selected and made original.
The twisted melange gabardine is an original fabric made from yarn that has a texture similar to animal hair. It was analyzed and referenced from chambray fabric used in Italian military pants in the 1910s. Two types of warp yarns and a total of four colors were used, creating a sense of depth and a faded surface texture.
A degreased washer was applied for finishing, resulting in a smooth texture.
