This model reproduces the military chinos from 1945. While the typical style of chinos features side pockets with a flat seam, this version uses a metal button (engraved with U.S. ARMY) at the front and boasts pocket openings with double-welt construction, making it a rare find even among vintage pieces. It offers a deep rise and a relaxed, wide silhouette.
During World War I, soldiers wore pants known as “BREECHES,” which were a jodhpurs style; however, by World War II, the style transitioned to trousers (slacks), officially adopted by the Army Air Forces in 1937. The initial trousers provided received low ratings from soldiers, prompting the military to involve civilian companies to improve quality. With these enhancements, various types of military chinos were developed.
