This jacket features a unique design from the early 1950s, showcasing a stylized tiger on a green body. Among numerous tiger patterns, this design, depicting the tiger from a side angle, is exceptionally rare. The intricate use of two different colors of thread for the mane and the white claws, eyes, and fangs aligns with vintage craftsmanship. Additionally, the block letters spelling 'JAPAN' and the larger-than-usual chest embroidery of the eagle and tiger are also notable features that enhance its vintage appeal.
The reversible side boasts a mono-colored body in champagne gold, unifying the torso and underarms, a rarity even in vintage pieces. The back design features a Japan map pattern, bordered by a red circle, showcasing a luxurious embroidery of an eagle and dragon facing each other. While it is primarily in soft tones, the use of black for the 'Japan' text and ribbing adds a striking contrast throughout.
