This unique piece from the Duke Kahanamoku brand features the auspicious Mount Fuji and an eggplant, a symbol of various wishes coming true. It is one of the rare Oriental designs offered by the Duke Kahanamoku brand. Typically, an Oriental design is overprinted on a traditional chirimen fabric, but this piece stands out with its unique discharge printing on Fujiette fabric.

DUKE KAHANAMOKU SPECIAL EDITION

Duke Kahanamoku, a legendary Hawaiian hero and waterman, was a gold medalist in competitive swimming and helped establish surfing as a sport. He launched his brand in the 1930s and became a cultural ambassador for Hawaii. This special edition by SunSurf faithfully recreates the charm of existing vintage aloha shirts based on Duke's exceptional sensibility.
