Blazer Faux Suede Six

Our latest project here at Sillage takes another step in the right direction as we shift our focus more and more to incorporate the concepts of sustainability and up-cycling into our core beliefs.

After carefully sourcing a small collection of pieces, we cut the uniforms into triangle patches and then sewed them together to create sheets of patchwork fabric. From there, we then had our artisans in Tokyo re-work the patchwork sheets by hand and had them cut, assemble, stitch, and sew the different sections of the sheet together. Afterward, the clothes were then sent to our factory in Okayama for the buttoning process.

Our new “Blazer Jacket” carries the formal, yet sporty look of our Veste Two Button, while also carrying some of the DNA of our Essential Three Pocket Jacket – it has raglan sleeves, 3 large patch pockets on the front, with beautiful lining all along the back/sleeves.

As part of our sustainable initiatives, Sillage presents a new concept: the "Artisanal Collection". Old, worn clothing is dismantled into triangular pieces and randomly sewn together into large fabric sheets. These sheets are then cut and sewn to match patterns by a single artisan. Finally, an artist handpaints unique numbering onto each item, giving every piece a distinct look. This collection adds new value to used items through a lengthy process that enhances their worth.

This time, we are remaking vintage faux suede shirts from the US.

This is a new patch pocket blazer.

Based on the 2BJK, it features elegant details such as a back lining and sleeve lining.

All pockets have been converted to patch pockets, giving a more preppy impression to the jacket.

By pairing with different pants, you can change the silhouette and style as a set-up, making this a seasonless collection that can be worn all year round.

When styled with Sillage denim or oxford shirts, you can create a wide preppy look.

This piece features hand-drawn numbering by artist Yoshida.
