This American-made "VIKING" canvas shell can be combined with the separately sold down vest. It features details typical of hunting jackets, including four pockets with snap buttons and a game pocket at the back that opens with a zipper and button. The waist is adjustable with buttons. The front has a double structure of snap buttons and a crown zipper, and the liner's zipper is also of the crown type.

ALASKA SLEEPING BAG COMPANY
Established in the early 1930s in Portland, Oregon, the Alaska Sleeping Bag Company started as a manufacturer of cold-weather sleeping bags using down. It later expanded into the production and sale of outdoor clothing and gear. Known for their durable and high-quality down apparel, the company gained a reputation for its performance in extreme cold conditions and capitalized on the outdoor boom of the time to grow its business. The company's mail-order catalog business saw significant growth, and by the 1960s, it was competing for market share with L.L. Bean and Eddie Bauer. Although the business continued to thrive for a time, the entry of numerous competitors in the 1970s led to a gradual decline, and the brand faded away by the end of the decade. This vintage brand has since been revived by Sugar Cane, made in the U.S.A.
