The design of the sukajan jacket, created in the late 1950s by Minato Sho Sho Kai (the predecessor of Tailor Toyo) at the request of the U.S. military, was sold at PX stores in Alaska. Among them, this lightning and polar bear design is highly regarded. It features a black body, with white accents from the embroidery, chenille, and ribbing, combining high fashion and functionality. This piece encapsulates various techniques from the good old days, such as 'yokoburi embroidery' used in sukajan, 'sagara embroidery' used in stadium jackets, and 'chain embroidery' found in bowling shirts.

The WHITESVILLE award jacket utilizes a highly weather-resistant 30-ounce wool melton for the body and high-quality US steer hide for the sleeves, which develops a charming patina over time.
