This short jacket takes inspiration from the series of works featuring scales, including the 'Sai-Touko' by potter Shoji Kamoda. To express the scale-like pattern on the textile, bonding opal processing has been adopted. The base fabric undergoes pigment printing for part of the pattern, then the cotton fabric is laminated, and all patterns are re-printed to overlap. Next, a meticulous and advanced printing technique is applied, coating specific areas of the upper cotton fabric with a special chemical. Finally, through washing, the fabric in areas not covered by the print dissolves, revealing the base's printed pattern, which creates a textured feel reminiscent of Kamoda’s works.
