I studied coverall jackets with chin straps, a distinctive feature from the 1920s to 1930s. It was a time when all clothing was experimenting, and reproducing it today is often difficult, requiring excellent sewing skills.
The rare examples that were the subject of study were efficient but required advanced sewing techniques, using a pattern that sews from the shoulder seam to the sleeve cap all at once. The sewing of the armhole also aimed to replicate the curves of the time as closely as possible.
Regarding the fabric, I analyzed the denim fabric of the time and used a newly developed original denim fabric. This fabric uses a green-cast indigo-dyed warp and a slightly off-white weft, conceived by Takahashi Taiga, adjusting the yarn count while maintaining the color tone, and increasing the number of weft threads to create a rich expression with a deep density, unlike regular left-hand twill denim formed by a 1/2 right twill structure. Taking references from vintage pieces from the 1930s that I collect, I also replicated the soil and oil stains specific to workwear, finishing it with realistic damage processing.
The stamped buttons and buckles are originals made from iron material crafted from molds. Since they are unplated, they will rust over time, allowing you to enjoy the aging process.
