The T-shirt is one of the garments that symbolizes America and has a background of being developed initially as an undergarment to be worn under uniforms and military clothing.

This simple garment embodies America's rational approach to manufacturing.

It features a no-waste structure, crafted from a tube-shaped fabric called tubular knit, with holes for the neck and arms and sleeves attached.

Though its appearance is akin to modern everyday wear, its nature is entirely different.

It features a design that faithfully recreates the original specifications, with no shoulder slope, a neckline similar to a boat neck, and a neck rib made double to prevent stretching.

This tubular jersey fabric is slowly knit over time using existing loop-wheel machines.

Loop-wheel machines were brought to Japan during the Taisho era and are now operated solely in Wakayama Prefecture, making them the only ones in the world still in operation.

Though it is a very inefficient machine, capable of knitting only one meter per hour, this results in a fabric that has a pleasant unevenness and rich texture, as if it contains air.

Using USA cotton as the material, the fabric has been finished with a dry texture and unique feel.

By finishing with garment dyeing and dyeing in the state of the product, natural light and shade variations appear in the seams and the fabric’s unevenness. Coupled with the unique unevenness of the loop-knit, it has an appearance that, while monochrome, feels subtly varied in expression.
