A rare military-pattern sukajan that was produced in limited quantities. The motif on the surface features the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier "Princeton". Based on the insignia of the 77th Task Force on the chest and the CV-37 number on the back, it can be concluded that it was custom ordered for this unit during their visit to Japan from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean War. The black and silver body contrasts with the navy piping and ribbing on the sleeves, intentionally using differing dark tones to avoid too much uniformity, following vintage specifications.
The reversible side features a rare maiko pattern, also uncommon in the vintage market. While designs combining maiko with a Japan map exist, a pattern prominently depicting a maiko is very rare. The body is in a "reverse color scheme" of champagne gold and wine red, with a stunning depiction of a beautiful maiko's back featuring intricately embroidered details of her carefully tied hair, kimono collar, and long, loosely tied obi.

This is a standard, reversible type souvenir jacket made from acetate fabric on both sides. Post-war sukajan often utilized acetate, an item regulated outside of material control, which has a luxurious feel similar to silk. Without padding, it can be worn in any season and offers a unique drape that enhances its appeal.

Returns are not accepted for overseas orders due to customer preferences, including incorrect sizing or personal interpretation of the product.
