Size

The Type E-1 Trousers, issued by the U.S. Air Force since 1949, are part of a cold-weather inner system designed to be worn with the A-1 shirt. Made from a durable wool serge, these trousers were specifically developed for use underneath intermediate flight suits B-15B/A-11B and heavy-zone flight suits N-2/D-1 and N-3/F-1. They feature protective cushioning at the hips and knees, covered with smooth nylon for added comfort. The cuffs include ribs to prevent cold air intrusion. Originally designed with a back cinch to be worn with suspenders, these trousers have been modified to include belt loops. Like the evolution of the L-2, N-2, and N-3 series, the trousers undergo color regulations as they progress to E-1, E-1A, and E-1B variants.
