Style
Size

The B-2 is a flight jacket developed by the Army Air Forces to protect pilots from extreme cold conditions. Its adoption took place between 1932 and 1934, following the coverall style that often caused size issues. The B-2 was designed with a separate jacket and trousers style, which significantly improved manufacturing efficiency by reducing weight during the production process.

The exterior is made from horsehide, while the lining comes in two types, pile and blanket, provided by contractors. The earlier model, the B-1, featured a shearling lining, but the B-2 was changed to a fabric lining. There are two methods to secure the collar: one with a belt buckle and another with buttons.

Additionally, reflecting its coverall heritage, the waist features a belt buckle for adjustment. There is also a hook hand-sewn at the back of the collar for suspending the collar above the head using an elastic band.

Produced before World War II, the B-2 was not manufactured in large quantities, making authentic originals extremely rare. Encountering a verified original is comparable to possessing a museum-quality piece.
