Expedition parka designed for field research activities in extreme cold regions such as the Arctic and Antarctic. This jacket features a waterproof and breathable material called Hyvent, made from recycled nylon in a two-layer structure. It uses Pro Down filling treated with water-repellent processing, which minimizes loss of functionality when wet, ensuring performance during damp conditions. The hood is slightly oversized and comes with removable, voluminous synthetic fur for added protection against cold air, snow, and strong UV rays. The silhouette offers a relaxed fit with a slightly longer length. It includes a total of 15 pockets for organizing field notes and maps. Both the chest pocket and waist pockets have hand warmer functions. One of the standout features of the Southern Cross parka is its surprisingly lightweight design.

There is a problem with the surface fabric
The overall insulation and fit design are perfect, but friction on the cuffs and side pockets causes pilling, and it's not even been a week since I started using it.

The best
I usually wear size M, but S is a bit loose. There's plenty of storage, so I don't need a bag for my wallet, cigarettes, or phone. I plan to wear it for camping and walking the dog when it gets colder.

CLEANDOWN
CLEANDOWN uses down that has been processed and cleaned by Kawada Feather, a down manufacturer based in Meiwa Town, Mie Prefecture, as its main raw material. In a dry climate that allows down feathers to open easily and using soft water that flows from the area, dirt and dust are thoroughly removed without damaging the down, resulting in clean down. The cleaned down has superior loft compared to unprocessed down and enhances thermal insulation. Clean down wraps the body more warmly.

GREEN DOWN RECYCLE PROJECT
The GREEN DOWN RECYCLE PROJECT is a project that collects and refines down (feathers), which are a limited resource, and uses it as a raw material for new products, including down clothing, under the name 'GREENDOWN.' It reduces the carbon dioxide generated when burning down (about 1.8 kg of carbon dioxide is emitted for 1 kg of down) and the carbon dioxide during transportation from the country of origin to Japan.
