The Balmacaan Coat is a signature piece from nanamica. This version incorporates Brewed Protein™ fibers, an innovative structural protein material designed as a new solution to pressing environmental issues. The elegant A-line silhouette is defined by the graceful curve from the shoulder line. Featuring a one-piece sleeve design with a wide fit, this coat can be comfortably worn over a jacket while maintaining its original shape. Expertly crafted in a dress coat factory in Japan, it is a product that nanamica will carry forward into the future.

Brewed Protein™ fibers are advanced materials developed by Spiber, a biotech venture based in Tsuruoka, Yamagata. Derived from plant-based sugars and produced through a microbial fermentation process, this innovative material is seen as a viable alternative to traditional animal-based and synthetic fabrics. Currently, production of Brewed Protein™ polymers has begun at a mass production facility in Thailand, with ongoing expansion of Brewed Protein™ fiber production.
