This thermal jacket provides excellent insulation for winter stargazing and snow hiking. It has been updated with a well-balanced fit that aligns with current trends. Check the size comparison between the old and new model numbers at the bottom of the page. The outer shell uses a 30-denier GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER 2-layer structure with a non-fluorinated membrane, offering windproof and waterproof features that can handle light rain and snow. The insulation is filled with Light Down, which maintains superior thermal performance through the infrared effect of special ceramics. Thanks to advanced cleaning technology, the clean down ensures high insulation capability. The jacket features an insulated collar and double flap at the front to minimize cold spots. It comes with a convenient stuff sack for easy carry. The novelty color is inspired by natural tree bark, and it has a simple, spacious box silhouette.

The size has changed!
Height 176 Weight 72.
Usually, I wear size 【L】 outerwear from The North Face, but when I tried it on at the store, size 【M】 fit just right.
*It has almost the same fit as the 【L】 for the Velya Parka.
It is noted in the product description as well, but the length, body width, etc., are about one size larger.
*It seems more people chose one size up for the previous model.
I recommend trying it on at the store if you are considering a purchase.

Completely new Baltro
The new Baltro is completely different in size and purpose from last season. The amount of down has been reduced, and it has a more relaxed urban style. It has clearly defined coverage with the Himalayan Parka for snowy mountains. I strongly recommend trying it on in person before purchasing. The fabric has also been improved and upgraded to prevent pilling. Personally, I think it's better that I can adjust it with inner layers than the previously over-spec Baltro.

CLEANDOWN
CLEANDOWN uses raw down that has been cleaned and processed by Kawada Feather, a down manufacturer located in Meiwa-cho, Mie Prefecture. Utilizing the dry climate that allows down feathers to open easily and soft water flowing in this region, dirt and dust are thoroughly removed without damaging the down, resulting in clean down. The cleaned down has better loft than before cleaning, enhancing its insulation power. Clean down wraps the body more warmly.

GREEN DOWN RECYCLE PROJECT
The GREEN DOWN RECYCLE PROJECT is an initiative to collect and refine down (feathers), a limited resource, and use it as a raw material for new products, including down clothing, under the name “GREENDOWN”. It reduces carbon dioxide emissions generated when down is incinerated (approximately 1.8 kg of carbon dioxide is emitted for 1 kg of down) and during transportation from the country of origin to Japan.
