This outer insulation features a double-wall construction using GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER for both the outer and liner materials. It is designed to reduce moisture penetration from snow and ice in ice waterfalls or ice walls, while also minimizing wetness to the internal insulation when worn over a wet outer shell. Inside is PRIMALOFT Black Insulation RISE, made with approximately 80% recycled plastic bottles. It maintains thermal insulation even in wet conditions, offering excellent durability, resilience, and portability, making it suitable for expedition gear. Additionally, it includes a unique THE NORTH FACE developed gimmick for quick loft recovery during use, with compact carry in mind using the included stuff sack. Air can be injected into the insulation through a valve located under the left chest logo, significantly shortening the loft recovery time. The hood features a high collar that covers up to the mouth and a large design that accommodates a helmet. There are zippered pockets on both sides, and a reverse-opening double-action zipper ensures easy access while using a harness. Inside, there is a large pocket for storing goggles or gloves. This is a technical insulation item for alpine climbers, ideal for use in harsh environments.
